“Can-Do” Awards Raise $1.4 million dollars for the Food Bank of New York In an Effort to Help End the Fight for Hunger
As a contributor for Appetite for Good, I had the honor of attending and photographing the Can-Do Awards in NY during April 2012. Please see below excerpt from my contribution.
Celebrities, renowned chefs and an elegant venue helped raise $1.4 million dollars towards Food Bank of New York’s annual budget to help fight hunger in New York. The Food Bank serves as a major contributor to end hunger in New York City and serves over 400,000 meals a day for New Yorkers in need. The Orange-themed awards dinner was held on April 17, 2012 at the glamorous Cipriani Wall Street. Special guests included Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Mayor Bloomberg, Mario Batali, Tom Colicchio, Oliver Platt, Jon Hamm, Wendy Williams, Anne Burrell and Master of Ceremonies, the great Stanley Tucci.
