On my last visit to India, I got to see my family and meet my husband’s extended family. We traveled to 3 different states, attended 3 weddings, and met dozens of family members in just two weeks. It was a whirlwind to say the least but it was a great time filled with laughter, a hectic schedule yet wonderful memories. My favorite part of the trip was going to Amritsar, Punjab and staying at the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) overnight and getting to witness it in the late hours of the night and before sunrise. The Golden Temple is a Gurdwara (temple) for Sikhs. The Gurdwara is situated in a man made holy tank (Sarovar) with four entrances to symbolize the openness of Sikhs for all religions and people.
